Every Wednesday, this amazing group of volunteers arrives at the World Vision global distribution center in Sewickley, PA to open, sort, fold, and package all of the Knit for Kids items that arrived during the week. Some weeks, this work takes one hour. Other weeks, this takes many hours! Regardless, this group of men and women rejoice over every item that knitters have lovingly created for the world’s children. They exclaim over details, marvel over patterns, and “We love seeing your beautiful sweaters, caps, and blankets. It makes me proud to be a part of this special effort to give hope to children who desperately need it. I love that I get to be here in the middle step…between the knitter who generously created the items, and the child who will gratefully receive it.”
